This lecture will review active shooter data and discuss a paradigm shift for responding to an ongoing active shooter situation that will be covered during an emergency response to an active shooter event.

Getting DoD approved training is the heart of the STOP THE BLEED® campaign. The Coalition has assembled a wide variety of resources so that you can plan your STOP THE BLEED® training, which is conducted by people and organizations approved by the Department of Defense. These people and organizations train individuals how to use STOP THE BLEED® approved tourniquets, hemostatic bandages, and related accessory equipment. These products have been evaluated and approved by the DoD Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care, which sets the standards for military grade medical devices.

Everyone should be taught how to defend themselves in a violent situation and be prepared to save the lives of others if they incur injuries that are equally severe.
